How to look radiant after a long trip

its all fun until you come back to work

fight the 24hr jet lagged look

From wheels-up to touchdown, flights can wreak havoc on your skin. Plane air is just plain gross—and drying. Whether traveling for fun or business, with all the time wasted in flight, you want to land with your best foot – and face – forward. Check out these radiant skin tips to help you improve your next long-haul flight and arrive looking like you’ve been relaxing in first class for hours.

Start the night before.

The key is to start early. On the night before a big trip, it’s important to exfoliate your face to remove any dead skin cells that may have been building up. This will also help your skin better absorb all the products you use later, so you can stay more hydrated for longer.

Remove your makeup.

Remove all of your makeup as soon as you board the plane, ideally with a milk-based cleanser so as to nourish at the same time as deep cleansing. If you prefer to do this in your seat you can use a micellar water on a cotton pad instead. I don’t care for makeup remover wipes, they’re just not that great for your skin and the perfectionist in me doesn’t really believe they remove all traces of makeup, dirt and debris.

Moisturize.

After you’ve landed at your destination, it’s time to restore the hydration that the plane ride may have stolen. Slather on a moisturizer or face cream. The intensive repair serum powerful serum enhances cellular DNA, healing and repairing the skin from within!  packed with hydrating and anti-aging ingredients, locking in moisture and leaving you with an instant glow. Follow with SwissZell Eye cream for your eye contour and added skin glam.

Get some sleep.

Sleep is super important to maintaining a great complexion, so take a good quality block out mask with silk or felt lining, earplugs and — my secret that I swear by — personal humidifying breathing mask. It traps and recycles your own moisture in your breath and prevents dehydration and airborne viruses.

Wherever your travels take you, be sure to stock your bag with the (travel-size) essentials to get you there looking fresh-faced.

The bitter truth of dark chocolate and your skin

Finally, something positive about one of the most infamous sweets that every person in diet hates so much but love so much at the same time.  It turns out that chocolate comes from a very special ingredient called Cacao which contains some of the most powerful antioxidants and it also brings health benefits that not only save your skin but it also help to improve your body such as improving blood circulations, IF, of course, you take it moderated.

Now, don’t jump out from your seat yet to buy your chocolate.  The bad news, we are not talking about your M&Ms, Snickers bar, or any other of your favorite chocolate bars, we are talking about Dark Chocolate.  Yes, the bitter, boring, and nasty version of your chocolate (sniff!).   It seems that studies has shown that chocolate by itself (around 70%),  can help your skin to fight against free radicals, keeping it soft, giving you a younger looking.   Dark chocolates also provide your skin with protection against UV rays and promote better skin cell regeneration.

Wondering why many heart broken women eat and eat chocolates while crying a river over the lost of their love ones? well, chocolate also helps to give you a better mood because of the high level of magnesium and relieve anxiety by releasing calming endorphins.
