The Fall Season is here and your skin has to adjust to the weather change. Your skin gets dry really fast and your skin might start peeling from the sunburn you got during the summer. What should you do? The weather is changing fast and your skin couldn’t adapt to the fast changing weather. Here are 6 tips you could do to prep for the Fall Season.
Start the season with a peeling mask. The extreme exposure to the sun during the summer will tire out your skin. The peeling mask will help lift off the dull outer layer of the skin, revealing a brighter and softer complexion.
Your skin is very fragile. It gets dry and rough very easily when the weather gets colder. Using hydrating serum will nourish and add extra hydration to your skin. You can also use natural coconut oil as a moisturizer for your whole body, especially after a shower or a hot bath.
If you want to exfoliate, use an oil-based scrub for exfoliating. This would not only exfoliate the dead skin cells off, it also hydrates your skin at the same time leaving your skin less dry and flaky.
Don’t forget your lips! Protecting and moisturizing your lips are very important during the cold weather. Start using lip balm to protect your lips from being too dry that might lead to bleeding in some cases. You wouldn’t want to kiss someone with dried lips. 😉
Although the sun isn’t as strong in the Fall than in the Summer, you should still use sunscreen to protect you from UV rays. Using makeup with SPF would also help too.
ALWAYS carry hand cream in your bag. Your hands tend to get dry the most because you do almost everything with your hands. You always wash your hands when it gets dirty and washing your hands too often will wash off all the oil that protects the skin. Now this is when the hand cream comes in handy. Again, you wouldn’t want to hold hands with someone when it feels dry and rough. 😉
Keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized is the key to fight against the dry cold weather that’s coming. Remember to start preparing early and your skin will thank you later on. Don’t forget to keep warm too.
One of my favorite drinks is soy milk. Soy is said to contain many high quality proteins, fibers, and isoflavones. The dietary intake of soy may reduce cholesterol and lower risk of heart disease. But did you know that soy has many great beauty benefits too? Yes, it has a number of positive effects on the skin and some skincare products have soy as one of their ingredients.
Soy is a member of the pea family and has been very popular in Southeastern Asia such as China and Japan. No wonder the Chinese and Japanese have both healthy body and skin. It is one of the world’s major food crops today and they can be processed into oil, milk, tofu, and soy protein. Since soy contains nutrients and proteins, many people use soy on skin as a beauty enhancer. By using soy on skin, it acts as a moisturizer to soften, smooth, and even out skin tones. It contains aglycones which promise the improvement of aging skin, and diminishing of fine lines and wrinkles. Soy also contains vitamin E which can help renew dead skin cells and promotes collagen production. Creams that contain soy are great for soothing and reversing sun damages.
One way to use soy on the skin is by making a soy mask. First by crushing the soy beans into powder form and add water to make it like a paste. Spread the paste on the face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. This will let the paste to absorb excess oil on your skin, leaving it smooth and toned. You can always mix in other natural ingredients such as eggs, honey, or oatmeal to make the mask for a deeper enhancement of the beauty effects. Another way is to use soy milk to wash your face.
Though honey may be their most popular product, known for its health and skin care benefits, bees product another substance that works great for our skin—beeswax.
Honeybees produce a natural wax, secreting it from glands on the sides of their bodies. They then scrape the wax off, chew it up and secrete it to the inside of the honeycomb. There, it gradually hardens into a protective lining for the cells where the baby bees are grown and the honey is stored. This hardened material not only serves as a physical protection, but also helps keep the hive free of infections and other contaminants.
Beeswax has been used over the centuries initially to make candles, which it is still used for today. Ancient Egyptians used beeswax to make paint for their artists, and during Roman times, it was also used as a skin softener. Today scientists are studying beeswax for its potential to lower cholesterol, relieve pain, and treat digestive ailments.
Benefits to the Skin
The beauty industry loves beeswax, because not only is natural and non-toxic, it also provides amazing benefits to the skin. It help thicken creams to make them easier to use and more spreadable on the skin.
Here are some benefits of beeswax:
Eczema: is a skin condition that causes an itchy rash on the skin. beeswax act as an antiseptic to keep the infection from spreading while actively eliminates it.
Stretch Mark: weight loss/gain and pregnancy often result in ugly stretch marks on the skin. Beeswax helps prevents and heals these marks naturally.
Acne: Beeswax will soften the skin with an emollient effect that gives a fresh and restored look.
Protective: when applied to the skin, beeswax forms a protective barrier that helps protect it from environmental stressors, while also holding in moisture and reducing dryness. This is one of the reasons beeswax is often used in lip balms. Unlike ingredients made from petroleum, however, beeswax won’t clog pores.
Humectant: some ingredients “attract” water, and beeswax is one of them. When you put it on, you attract water molecules, helping to keep skin hydrated over time.
Vitamin A: beeswax helps exfoliation and can rejuvenate your look.
Fragrance: beeswax has a natural honey fragrance, and is a favorite in soaps and perfumes because of its pleasant, light aroma.
Soothes temporary itching: If you suffer from dry skin itching or sensitive skin, beeswax is for you. Because beeswax is anti-allergenic, it is also easily tolerated by even those with reactive skin.
Do you use beeswax for other benefits? Feel free to share your beauty tips and suggestions!
Finally, something positive about one of the most infamous sweets that every person in diet hates so much but love so much at the same time. It turns out that chocolate comes from a very special ingredient called Cacao which contains some of the most powerful antioxidants and it also brings health benefits that not only save your skin but it also help to improve your body such as improving blood circulations, IF, of course, you take it moderated.
Now, don’t jump out from your seat yet to buy your chocolate. The bad news, we are not talking about your M&Ms, Snickers bar, or any other of your favorite chocolate bars, we are talking about Dark Chocolate. Yes, the bitter, boring, and nasty version of your chocolate (sniff!). It seems that studies has shown that chocolate by itself (around 70%), can help your skin to fight against free radicals, keeping it soft, giving you a younger looking. Dark chocolates also provide your skin with protection against UV rays and promote better skin cell regeneration.
Wondering why many heart broken women eat and eat chocolates while crying a river over the lost of their love ones? well, chocolate also helps to give you a better mood because of the high level of magnesium and relieve anxiety by releasing calming endorphins.
